Adverse Weather and Speculative Short-Covering Combine to Send Crop Prices
Higher
July soybeans closed up 33 3/4 cents and July corn was up 8 3/4 cents, two
old-crop prices that received boosts from South American harvest problems
Monday. July contracts of KC and Chicago wheat posted their highest closes this
year with severe weather expected in the southern Plains Monday, shifting to
the Ohio River Valley by Wednesday.

GENERAL COMMENTS:
July corn closed up 8 3/4 cents and December corn was up 5 3/4 cents. July
soybeans closed up 33 3/4 cents and November soybeans were up 18 3/4 cents.
July KC wheat closed up 25 cents, July Chicago wheat was up 26 1/4 cents and
July Minneapolis wheat was up 7 1/2 cents.
